Services Provided

Physiotherapy Services

Physiotherapists provide a service to people with a wide range of problems using a variety of therapies. The overall aim is to restore function, maximise independence and assist in improving quality of life by careful assessment, direct treatment, advice and education, working with patients to achieve mutually agreed goals.  All physiotherapists are registered with the Health Professions Council.
 
Physiotherapists work in both hospital and community based locations and these include:
  •                       Health Centres
  •            Schools
  •                       Resource Centres
  •            Leisure Centres
  •            Nurseries
  •                       Hospitals --- in patients and day patients
  •                       Domiciliary services provided in people's homes.
Within the CHP physiotherapists work as part of a multidisciplinary/ multiagency team working with, among others, social work, care providers, voluntary services and local authorities.
Physiotherapists work with children and adults who have:
  •                       Acute injuries
  •                       Musculoskeletal problems
  •                       Deteriorating mobility
  •                       Respiratory conditions
  •                       Stroke and other neurological problems
  •                       Learning Disabilities
  •                       Mental Health problems.

Mental Health services are based at Dykebar Hospital 0141 314 4058.
Learning Disability services are based at Renfrew Health & Social Work Centre 0141 207 7400.
Domiciliary, Physical Disability and Older Adults Mental Health Physiotherapy services are based in Renfrewshire Rehabilitation & Enablement Service – access via Single Point of Access (SPOA) – Tel: 0141 207 7400.
How to access services
Referral to the outpatient services can be made by your GP or by a consultant as can referrals to the paediatric service. Referrals to the other services can be made by GPs, consultants and other health professionals.
