Public Partnership Forum, East Dunbartonshire
Setting the scene;
In December 2004, the Scottish Government published ‘advice’ notes to Community Health Partnerships (CHP’s), highlighting the importance of involving local people within the work and services managed by the CHP’s. The Community Health Partnership (CHP) is the organisation responsible for delivery of local health services, across East Dunbartonshire. The CHP is committed to improving the health of people living and working across East Dunbartonshire and making a positive difference to health inequalities.
What is a Public partnership Forum (PPF)?
The Public Partnership Forums (PPF’s), is a network of local community, voluntary sector representitives, alongside health service users, who are interseted in being kept informed and involved in the various processes that determine how local health service provision is designed and managed across East Dunbartonshire.
How do I get involved or become informed ?
Anyone who lives or works in East Dunbartonshire can be a member of the Public Partnership Forum.
For those who wish to be an active members, the the East Dunbartonshire PPF holds Executive Groups meetings, a minimum of 10 times per year.
Local people can join the East Dunbartonshire PPF vitual group, and are provided with minutes of meetings and other relevent information through regular email communications.
What does the Public Partnership Forum do?
The PPF informs local people and local organisations to the current issues and devlopments relating to local health services.
The PPF reflects local peoples issues, concering health service provision to the CHP Committee.
The PPF engages with local service users, carers and the public, in discussion about local services and service developments
The PPF responds to the CHP and to NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde on local and national consultations.
The PPF represents the public view at CHP and other organisation group meetings.
PPF Working agreement
The working agreement describes the working arrangements between the PPF and the Community Health Partnership. This paper aims to clarify and maximise the effectiveness of the PPF, as the main mechanism by which the CHP communicates, engages and maintains contact with people who live and work and work across East Dunbartonshire.
